President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, warned that this year Serbia will face an ultimatum on Kosovo issue. According to Serbian media, a plan (Ahtisaari ++) is to be served to Serbia by the end of the year.

The news portal Kurir, known for its close proximity to Serbian President, writes today that this plan will be impossible for Serbia to accept, although its rejection will result in serious consequences for Serbia, as it may result in conflicting with all major powers and with the isolation of Serbia.

According to this plan, Kurir reports, Serbia will be offered the guarantee for EU accession and a greater autonomy for Serbs in the northern part of Kosovo, in exchange for recognition of Kosovo’s independence.

“I’m convinced that by the end of the year we will receive something that will be difficult to refuse, even though we will not be able to accept it,” Vucic said.

In addition to autonomy for the northern part of Kosovo, Kurir writes that to the Serbs will also be granted extraterritoriality status for Orthodox churches in Kosovo, and all the revenue collected from customs in the northern Kosovo will go for the northern municipalities.

All these reporting and Vucic’s statements are being made on the eve of the new elections in Serbia.
