Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said on Saturday that he expects from political spectrum to exhaust all communication opportunities for building of the institutions before taking any further step.

President Thaçi has already signed a decision, though which he gave the mandate for forming the government to the leader of Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti.

“I expect that the decision I’ve already signed, he (Kurti) will accept as he has declared so, because he has campaigned as candidate for prime minister and because he has nominated half of the government. It is perfectly normal, understandable and responsible from him if he, either physically or through other form of communication, formally accepts nomination for the prime minister. Or, he will not, and he has of course the right to refuse it publicly or officially, in case that he is not ready. However, it all remains within responsibility and respect that he has for the will of the electorate, for all Kosovo citizens, for Kosovo as a state, and of course for the support from our international partners,” President said.

Thaçi also said solution for the political stalemate lies in the hands of the two parties, although if this proves unsuccessful he will than work to enable the democratic functioning of Kosovo institutions.

“Kosovo will not be blocked for a long time. However, I would like to emphasize once more that we will look for all the possibilities of political change addressed by the political parties, based on their responsibilities for respecting the citizens will, as well as the constitutional and legal responsibilities. We’re obliged to respect all the citizens that cast their votes, and not just one political address. I remain strongly confident that we will move in right direction and that we will continue implementing the priorities that Kosovo has as a state, whether for visa liberalization or for our Euro-Atlantic future,” he concluded.
