Thaci sends second invitation to Kurti; the latter responds that he is out of the country

President, Hashim Thaçi, has sent second invitation to leader of Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti, for a meeting at 20:00, in order to give him a mandate for formation of the government.

“As a continuation to my first invitation, I invite you once again to take part in a consultative meeting, for the appointment of a mandate for formation of the government. As I stated in my first invitation, in accordance with Article 84 (14) and Article 95.1., of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, I will undertake necessary steps as set forth by constitution, for the assignment of the mandate for formation of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo,” Thaçi wrote to Kurti.

Moreover, President Thaçi underlined that, as he has not formally accepted any excuse for his absence at the 1:30 pm meeting, he therefore invites him once again for a meeting, tonight at 8:00 pm.,in the cabinet of the President of the Republic of Kosovo.

Meanwhile, it seems that Albin Kurti will not attend the meeting with President Thaci, regardless of the second invitation received from him.

This is confirmed by Kurti himself, though a letter published on the official page of Vetevendosje on Facebook.

“Thank you for both invitations sent for meeting today, which were published in news portals before they’ve reached me,” Kurti said.

“As I’m out of the country I cannot attend even the second meeting. In order to meet one another and discuss the mandate for formation of the government, I will contact you these days,” Kurti concluded, by clarifying that he will meanwhile consult the two articles mentioned by president in his invitation letters.
