Leader of Vetevendosje Movement (VV), Albin Kurti, and that of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, has communicated yesterday directly, Gazeta Blic reports, based on its sources within the two parties

According to Blic, Mustafa and Kurti have agreed to meet this afternoon.

“Following the meetings of the LDK governing bodies and the meeting that Albin Kurti had with President Thaçi, two leaders spoke by the phone and agreed on a meeting that will take place this afternoon,” the Blic’s source said.

According to this source, the LDK may enter this meeting with a new bid for VV.

“Initially, they will insist on gaining the post of the speaker of the Assembly besides the president, and if Albin Kurti and VV will not withdraw the LDK will seek compensation for the post of the speaker. Two ministries will be required as compensation for the post of the speaker of the Assembly, in order for one ministry to be returned to VV once the LDK-proposed president is elected,” the source clarified.

Yet, neither Vetevendosje nor the LDK have officially confirmed a possible meeting between Albin Kurti and Isa Mustafa for today.

VV deputy and the second deputy prime minister to be, Haki Abazi, said for Blic that a meeting between Kurti and Mustafa has not been confirmed yet.

“I have no information about it right so far,” Abazi said.

Yesterday the LDK held a meeting with its structures and as conclusion it stated that they are ready to continue talks on forming the government.

“I see no practical reason not to meet. I believe that after the meetings of the parliamentary group and of the LDK leadership there was an indirect conclusion to continue with negotiations, and we, on the other hand, are ready to meet with them any time,” Abazi added.

However the LDK deputy, Arban Abrashi, stressed yesterday that the LDK is not going to withdraw from its demands, for the post of president, of the speaker of Assembly and of five ministers.

Meanwhile, leader of VV, Albin Kurti, via video message on Facebook yesterday presented half of the cabinet, and asked from the LDK the names of its five ministers.

Political analysts described such public offering by Kurti as offensive.
