Acting Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP), Fatmir Matoshi, announced today that MESP doesn’t have authority for issuance of the building permits, as in the case of the residence neighborhood near Badovc Lake.

Matoshi wrote on Facebook that neither the company nor the landowner have applied and have not been granted the Environmental Consent by the MESP, for the project intended to be built.

“Based on the announcements made by a group of citizens and a raising media concern about a project intended to be built near Badovc Lake, by Investors KAWA Group and 4M Group, as well as by the private landowner (Rrahman  Hajredini),  both of which has constantly emphasized that the MESP has given permission for  that project, I would like to inform you that the MESP is not authorized to issue construction permit for this case.

Yet, based on all the data we have in the MESP, we can assure you that neither the companies in question nor the landowner have applied nor have not been provided with the Environmental Consent by MESP.

I would like to assure all the citizens of the country that the MESP inspectorate and other responsible departments within the MESP will be active on this matter and will ensure that no action will be taken that may affect the protected area of Badovc Lake and the water quality from anyone,  Minister Matoshi concluded.
