Today, while to policeman, Sami Thaqi, was given a farewell ceremony, Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, honored him with the order “Hero of Kosovo.”

Thaci said that “the sacrifice of dozens of police officers who killed while protecting law and order obliges us to work harder for a peaceful and stable Kosovo and a better place for all our citizens.”

“The fallen policeman, Sami Thaqi, is the youngest hero of the Republic of Kosovo. Based on my constitutional powers, I issue today the “Hero of Kosovo” order for policeman Sami Thaqi,” President said.

Otherwise, policeman Thaqi was killed last evening, and two of his colleagues were wounded, following an explosion during an anti-narcotics search operation in a village Zhur, near Prizren.
