During a year-end press conference today, Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaci, said that it was a year of progress. Among other important processes, Thaci mentioned elections of 6 October, by saying that, “the citizens spoke and it’s thus now responsibility of the political parties to take the responsibility they’ve earned.”

“We’ve had some difficult confrontations and challenges, but I think they will be overcome in the future,”Thaci said.

President also spoke about the meeting with Albin Kurti, by underlining that he expects him to be at his office on Monday, at 3pm.

“It’s constitutional obligation for the president of the country to address the Assembly of the Republic once a year. I would very much appreciate to go to the Kosovo Assembly, yet, unfortunately I currently to whom to address my speech. I expect that within the competencies and by the will of the law, we will have a functioning Assembly during the first weeks of January, and I will then address the deputies,” he explained.

“I welcome the fact that after the third invitation Mr. Kurti accepted the meeting, and responded to my invitation. As Mr. Kurti agreed on a day, I will wait for him on Monday, 15:00, in my office,” he said.

“We have institutional responsibility, he is thus welcomed on the day he proposed, at 15:00. We have no regrets,” Thaci added.
