For Marko Djuric Recak was just ‘an anti-terrorist action’ against Albanians

The so-called director for Kosovo in the Serbian Government, Marko Djuric, has once again tackled the issue of Recak massacre, by calling it “an anti-terrorist action.”

As a response to the Serbian opposition Djuric says that there is ‘a synchronized silence’ among Recak and conviction of the (former Kosovo minister) Ivan Todosijevic by judicial authorities in Pristina.

“The synchronized silence of the opposition for Recak and for persecution being inflicted on Ivan Todosijevic shows once more that they’re not an alternative to the current government, but their place is opposition,” Tanjug news agency cites Djuric’s words.

According to him, “the silence of the Serbian opposition towards Pristina’s brutal campaign portraying Recak’s anti-terrorist action as a genocide against Albanians, same as towards Todosijevic’s conviction, is no surprise’.”

Prior to this, on the same line with Djuric was Goran Rakic, from Lista Srpska, who also raised similar accusations against the opposition in Serbia.

“The ongoing attacks on Serbs in Kosovo and the institutional violence, which is being translated into court rulings for convicting the Serbs without any proof, is going unnoticed by the opposition in Belgrade,” Tanjug quotes Rakic.

The denial of Recak massacre by the Serbian state has recently sparked widespread reactions.

Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaci, visited Recak earlier this week and he, among other things, said that the international community is “silently encouraging Serbia to deny genocide in Kosovo.”

“The silence of the internationals and their failure to visit Recak specifically, which I emphasize represents culmination of the massacres committed by the Serbian state, has opened Serbia’s mouth and even amnestied its current leadership, to proudly deny crimes against humanity and genocide committed in Kosovo,” President Thaçi said.
